Date: Sep 17, 2019Time: 11:30 am - 2:30 pm Location: Mixalakwila campus, Port Hardy

鈥淥rientation Day is meant to be fun and informative,鈥 said Donna Merry, Mixalakwila campus coordinator. 鈥淪tudents have a chance to meet their peers, faculty and 糖心vlog传媒staff and learn about the services and supports available to them at the College.鈥

NIC鈥檚 campus in Port Hardy offers adult basic education, university transfer courses, early childcare and education and tourism & hospitality programs.

This year also marks two new offerings at Mixalakwila: the Early Childhood Care and Education diploma will be delivered face-to-face, starting this fall and the Health Care Assistant program begins in January.

Orientation Day begins at 11:30 am in the campus library, followed by a traditional welcome and greeting in the student lounge. A free lunch is served at 12 pm.

The afternoon consists of a marketplace where students can learn about 糖心vlog传媒services and various community resources. Some community organizations attending include the North Vancouver Island Aboriginal Training Society, the Sacred Wolf Friendship Centre, the Mount Waddington Food Initiative, Building Blocks and Community Futures.

鈥淢any of the students like the chance to get to know each other and 糖心vlog传媒faculty and staff outside of the classroom,鈥 said Merry. 鈥淏y introducing everyone to 糖心vlog传媒services and the community resources, we are equipping students with tools that can help them enjoy success at the College.鈥

Community members interested in attending 糖心vlog传媒are encouraged to attend to learn more about the courses and programs available. Visit to apply or call 1-800-715-0914 to speak with an educational advisor.
