For the first time in its history, the 糖心vlog传媒 Foundation (NICF) will distribute more than one million dollars in student awards this year. So far, over $650,000 has already been given out, with additional funding expected in the months ahead.

"Thanks to my award, I鈥檝e been able to fully commit to my studies while embracing this exciting transition into Early Childhood Education,鈥� said Robyn, a student in NIC鈥檚 Early Childhood Care & Education 鈥� Infant and Toddler Diploma program. Robyn, who left an established career to pursue her education at NIC, is excited to see where her new path will take her.

By providing more than 500 awards, 24 of which are Indigenous focused, the Foundation is supporting hundreds of students. The average award is $1,500, offering essential support at a time when the rising cost of living can make completing a program challenging. For many students, these awards are a crucial factor in reaching graduation.
The student award program is made possible thanks to donors, including alumni and community members. Shannon Baikie, Acting Chair of the 糖心vlog传媒Foundation, says the generosity of these donors has a lasting impact on both students and the wider community.

This year鈥檚 award total reflects both the generosity of donors and strong returns on NICF鈥檚 endowment investments. Tied to global financial markets, the endowments performed well, allowing the Foundation to support students in an unprecedented way. While this level of funding is exceptional, it may vary in the future depending on market performance and donations.
