Cairam 鈥淜hai鈥� Allam's journey to the world of skilled trades began after she moved to Port Alberni and decided she wanted to work for local firm Canadian Maritime Engineering 鈥� which has partnered with 糖心vlog传媒to offer apprenticeships through the Welder Foundation Harmonized Enhanced program.
Allam, originally from the Philippines, got her start in the Fabricator-Weldor program at NIC, and eventually became CME's first female welder, the Alberni Valley News reports.
鈥淚 am really grateful to work with amazing people and a great company that cares about their people," Allam told the newspaper.
