Interested in taking your learning outside the classroom? Do you have a passion to learn more about Japanese culture or coastal fishing practices? 糖心vlog传媒's Office of Global Engagement is excited to announce the opportunity for students to travel to Japan for a 10 day Field School to the coastal city of Wakayama, in Japan's Kansai Region.
Students will spend the duration of the trip exploring both urban and rural Japanese
towns and cities, historic museums, hands-on learning about local fishing practices
within Japan's indigenous community, and Canada's deep rooted connection to the town
of Mio.

Courses:
GLS 140 - Fishing, Indigeneity and the Asia Pacific (Introductory) or GLS 240 - Fishing,
Indigeneity and the Asia Pacific (Comprehensive) 鈥� 3 credits
GLS 241 - Field School: Fishing, Indigeneity and the Asia Pacific 鈥� 3 credits
The courses will be offered in January 2022 prior to the Field School.
Field schools allow you to have an immersive experience travelling and studying with
other students and instructors, but cost less than an exchange due to their shorter
duration.
