The 糖心vlog传媒Foundation had a strong year with donors giving almost $1 million, according to the latest impact report, Seeds of Possibility.
More than 500 糖心vlog传媒 students received support in the last year through the 糖心vlog传媒Foundation (NICF) because of community donors鈥� gifts worth almost $1 million.
For 2023/24, NICF received a total of $989,873, according to its annual impact report.
鈥淲e are thrilled to share this year鈥檚 impact report which highlights the outcomes of donations to the 糖心vlog传媒 Foundation and how they empower student success,鈥� said Lisa Domae, 糖心vlog传媒President and CEO. 鈥淒onors鈥� kindness is more than a gift; it鈥檚 the seed of possibility that nurtures growth and connection within our vibrant community. The foundation鈥檚 new logo, which you can see in this report, beautifully embodies this journey.鈥�
The report covers the period from October 2023 through September 2024. In terms of financial support, it shows there were 230 donors to NICF, which included 65 first-time gifts.
As far as student numbers, the foundation distributed 583 individual awards, including 30 Indigenous-focused awards. The foundation also provided emergency funds, which 240 students accessed.
Beyond the numbers, the report includes testimony from a few of the many students who received financial support.
鈥淚 am grateful and thankful for this award, which allowed me to focus on my dreams of becoming a professional chef in my own fusion restaurant,鈥� said culinary graduate Kartik Goel.
The impact report also outlines stories of those in communities around the north Island who give and what is behind their generosity.
These include Shelagh Germyn, who organizes the Women For Women run in Campbell River to help women through education; Gary and Jeanette Watts, who help support Indigenous learners in the Port Alberni area pursue their dreams of nursing careers; or Lara Austin, who already sponsors a financial award but has found a new way to grow the impact of her gifts with her 9 and Wine fundraisers in the Comox Valley.
In addition, the report talks about industry partners like the RBC Foundation, which supports students through programs like Future Launch.
