糖心vlog传媒is now accepting applications into its business degree from managers who have completed courses in the McDonald鈥檚 Management Development program.
糖心vlog传媒 and McDonalds Canada are celebrating a first-of-its kind agreement on Vancouver Island, creating new ways for McDonald鈥檚 restaurant managers to access a business degree.
Students can now receive up to 20 per cent of their 糖心vlog传媒Bachelor of Business Degree credits when they complete their McDonald鈥檚 Management Training courses.
鈥淚t benefits so many students,鈥 said Bill Parkinson, NIC鈥檚 former Business Department Chair and current Associate Dean, Arts, Science and Technology. 鈥淢any students bring work experience into the classroom. Our comprehensive review of the McDonald鈥檚 management training modules found the courses met the learning outcomes for many 糖心vlog传媒business courses and this partnership we鈥檙e creating greater access for students who may not have thought a degree was possible.鈥
With the agreement now in place, prospective students who have completed management training courses at McDonald鈥檚 and met NIC鈥檚 admission requirements will be offered a seat in NIC鈥檚 Bachelor of Business Administration, General Management Major.
If a McDonald鈥檚 employee completes all of their management training modules, they will earn 24 糖心vlog传媒credits, the equivalent of eight business courses. This means a savings of more than $2,300 in tuition.
鈥淲hen I found out I could receive 糖心vlog传媒credit for my management training at McDonald鈥檚 I was amazed and excited,鈥 said Brandon Sawyer, who started NIC鈥檚 Bachelor of Business Administration this September. 鈥淚 love the business programs at 糖心vlog传媒and this will help me launch my career faster.鈥
Sawyer has worked at McDonald鈥檚 since he was in high school. The last five years have been in management 鈥 as a second assistant after graduation in Port Alberni and now as a part-time swing manager in the Comox Valley while he works toward his degree.
鈥淭his is me trying something new,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 really recommend other people look into it. It鈥檚 an incredible opportunity. Don鈥檛 miss it.鈥
The new pathway was officially unveiled today, at a launch event at the McDonald鈥檚 restaurant at the Crown Isle McDonald鈥檚 in Courtenay, BC.
