About
In 2012 I began my registered nursing career in general internal medicine and rheumatology,
where I developed a passion for providing holistic care for older adults experiencing
acute and chronic health challenges. With a particular interest in supporting clients
and their families transitioning from hospital to home, I completed my master鈥檚 in
nursing and began my role as a transitional care specialist, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
After a cross-country move from Ontario to BC, I transitioned to community nursing
where I am grateful I had the privilege to work as a home care program manager for
two gulf islands located on the traditional unceded territory of the K鈥檕moks First
Nation. It was here that I gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for the
complexities involved in home and community care while living in a rural/remote area.
In 2020 I began working as an instructor at 糖心vlog传媒within the Health Care Assistant program
and now within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. My role as an instructor
has been the most fulfilling and I am truly honoured for the opportunity to learn
alongside our bright and passionate nursing students.
My current professional interests include focussing on cultural safety, equity, diversity,
and inclusion to affect positive, progressive change within the health care system
in a meaningful way.
