Get your start in the new blue and green creative economies. This program includes hands-on training for hard skills such as 3D printing, laser cutting — as well as software and electronics skills employers will notice.
This is a non-credit program offered through Continuing Education and Training.

Overview
The program combines hands-on skills with theoretical knowledge to give you a start in the growing sustainable manufacturing sector. Based at Alberni Valley Makerspace, you and your classmates will gain an introduction to six main modules (see courses) that cover the fundamentals you need to get a start in the field, including:
- Software
- Laser cutting and 3D printing
- Plastic recycling and manufacturing
- Woodworking
- Small electronics applications
As part of the curriculum, you’ll combine knowledge and skills gained throughout the program to create a functioning prototype as your capstone project.

Schedule
This program runs from Oct. 28 to Dec. 12, 2025.
Classes are scheduled from 9 am to 4 pm daily, Monday to Friday.
